حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: «النِّكَاحُ عَلَى مَا تَرَاضَوْا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ صَدَاقٌ»
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Whatever is mutually agreed upon for marriage, that is the mahr (dowry)."
