بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يَتَزَوَّجُ الْمَرْأَةَ عَلَى حُكْمِهَاChapter: A man marries a woman according to her terms
Hadith 1798

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ: أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ، يَقُولُ: «إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الْمَرْأَةَ عَلَى حُكْمِهَا أَوْ حُكْمِ أَهْلِهَا فَجَارَتْ أَوْ جَارَ الْحَكَمُ رُدَّ ذَلِكَ إِلَى مَهْرِ مِثْلِهَا، لَا وَكْسَ وَلَا شَطَطَ»
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If a woman marries based on the decision of someone or the decision of her family, and then she or the decision-maker commits injustice, then the woman should be given a mahr like hers—neither more nor less."
