حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، وَأَبُو شِهَابٍ قَالَا جَمِيعًا: أنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الطَّائِفِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْبَيْلَمَانِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَنْكِحُوا الْأَيَامَى مِنْكُمْ أَنْكِحُوا الْأَيَامَى مِنْكُمْ»، قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَقَالَ أَبُو شِهَابٍ: ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْعَلَائِقُ بَيْنَهُمْ؟ قَالَ: «مَا تَرَاضَوْا عَلَيْهِ أَهْلُوهُمْ»
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Marry widowed women, marry widowed women." Sayyiduna Sa'id, may Allah have mercy on him, said: According to Hushaym, he said it twice, and according to Abu Shahab, three times. Then a man said: "O Messenger of Allah! What will be the relationship between them?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one whom their family is pleased with."
