Hadith 1748

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: «يُزَوِّجُ الرَّجُلُ ابْنَتَهُ وَلَا يَسْتَأْمِرُهَا إِذَا كَانَتْ فِي عِيَالِهِ، وَإِذَا كَانَتْ نَائِيَةً بِنَفْسِهَا مَعَ عِيَالِهَا وَوَلَدِهَا اسْتَأْمَرَهَا»
Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If the girl lives with her father, she is not to be consulted; if she lives separately, she is to be consulted."
