Hadith 1746

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا خَدِيجُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ: «إِذَا خُطِبَتِ الْيَتِيمَةُ فَسَكَتَتْ فَهُوَ رِضَاهَا، وَإِنْ كَرِهَتْ فَإِنَّهَا لَمْ تَرْضَ»
Hazrat Abu Burdah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If the orphan girl remains silent, then this is consent; if she refuses, then there is no marriage."
