بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي اسْتِئْمَارِ الْبِكْرِ وَالثَّيِّبِChapter: What is reported regarding seeking the consent of a virgin and a previously married woman
Hadith 1745

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ: " جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ أَبِي وَنِعْمَ الْأَبُ هُوَ، خَطَبَنِي إِلَيْهِ عَمُّ وَلَدِي فَرَدَّهُ، وَأَنْكَحَنِي رَجُلًا وَأَنَا كَارِهَةٌ. فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَبِيهَا، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ قَوْلِهَا، فَقَالَ: صَدَقَتْ، أَنْكَحْتُهَا وَلَمْ آلُهَا خَيْرًا. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا نِكَاحَ لَكِ، اذْهَبِي فَانْكِحِي مَنْ شِئْتِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with them) that a woman complained about a marriage arranged by her father against her will. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The marriage is invalid; marry whomever you wish."
