Hadith 1736

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُجَالِدٌ، نا الشَّعْبِيُّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَا تُزَوَّجُ الْيَتِيمَةُ حَتَّى تُسْتَأْمَرَ، وَسُكُوتُهَا رِضَاهَا»
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The marriage of a female orphan should not be conducted without her permission; her silence is her consent."
