بَابٌ فِي الْمُكَاتَبِ يَمُوتُ وَيَتْرُكُ وَرَثَةً وَعَلَيْهِ بَقِيَّةٌ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِChapter: The mukatab (contracted slave) dies leaving heirs and still owes part of his contract
Hadith 1654

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فِي مُكَاتَبٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ وَفَاءً، وَلَهُ أَوْلَادٌ، وَعَلَيْهِ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ قَالَ: «يُعْطَى مَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ مَوَالِيهِ، وَمَا بَقِيَ فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ»
Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The amount owed by the mukatab should be given to his owners, and the remaining inheritance will belong to his heirs."
