It is narrated from Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): A man had made his slave a mudabbar. The slave paid some amount during his master's lifetime, and some remained. When the master died, the heirs demanded it from him. Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whatever the master received during his lifetime belongs to him, and you have no right over what remains."

Brief Explanation
Two fundamental reasons: Hajjaj bin Arta’ah ◄ weak and a mudallis (obfuscator), and here he narrates with ‘an’ (from). "‘An jaddihi" ◄ ambiguous narrator. Muhammad bin Qais bin Ka’b al-Nakha’i is of unknown status (some have mentioned him but authentication is not established). ◄ Ruling on the chain: The chain is weak, and due to discontinuity and the narrator’s unknown status, it is not suitable as evidence.
