بَابُ هَلْ يَقْضِي الْحَيُّ النَّذْرَ عَنِ الْمَيِّتِChapter: Can the living fulfill a vow on behalf of the deceased?
Hadith 1598

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَمُوتُ يُؤْمَرُ بِالْوَصِيَّةِ وَلَمْ يُوصِ، إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهُ مَحْقُوقُونَ أَنْ يُوصُوا عَنْهُ»
It is narrated from Ibn Tawus, may Allah have mercy on him, that "If a person, despite being commanded to make a will, does not make a will, then it is obligatory upon his family to make a will on his behalf."
