بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يُعْتِقُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُChapter: A man frees a slave at his death and has no other wealth
Hadith 1588

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ لَهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ، فَأَقْرَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً "
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drew lots among six slaves, freed two, and left four as slaves.
