بَابٌ: هَلْ يُوصِي الرَّجُلُ مِنْ مَالِهِ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنَ الثُّلُثِChapter: Can a man bequeath more than a third of his wealth?
Hadith 1532

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، وَحُمَيْدٌ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ أَوْصَى لِغَيْرِ ذِي قَرَابَةٍ فَلِلَّذِينَ أَوْصَى لَهُمْ ثُلُثَ الثُّلُثِ، وَلِقَرَابَتِهِ ثُلُثَيِ الثُّلُثِ»
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If someone makes a bequest for a non-relative, then one third of the one third should be given to the non-relative, and two thirds to the close relatives."
