بَابٌ: هَلْ يُوصِي الرَّجُلُ مِنْ مَالِهِ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنَ الثُّلُثِChapter: Can a man bequeath more than a third of his wealth?
Hadith 1517

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ: «كَانَ الْخُمُسُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الثُّلُثِ , وَأَمَّا الثُّلُثُ فَهُوَ مُنْتَهَى الْجَامِحِ»
Ash-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "One-fifth was more preferable than one-third, and one-third is for the one who exceeds the limit."
