Hadith 1458

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمِيرَاثُ لِلْعَصَبَةِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَصَبَةٌ فَالْوَلَاءُ»
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Inheritance is for the agnates (asabat); if there are no agnates, then guardianship will be established."
