بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يُعْتِقُ فَيَمُوتُ وَيَتْرُكُ وَرَثَةً ثُمَّ يَمُوتُ الْمُعْتَقُChapter on a man who frees a slave, then dies and leaves heirs, then the freed slave dies
Hadith 1449

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمَوْلَى أَخٌ فِي الدِّينِ وَنُعْمَةٌ، وَأَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِمِيرَاثِهِ أَقْرَبُهُمْ مِنَ الْمُعْتِقِ»
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The freed slave is a brother and a blessing in religion, and the one most entitled to his inheritance is the one who is closest to the emancipator."
