بَابُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ عَلَى الْمِيرَاثِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْسَمَChapter on one who accepts Islam before the inheritance is distributed
Hadith 1370

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «كُلُّ مِيرَاثٍ قُسِمَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَهُوَ عَلَى قَسْمِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، وَكُلُّ مِيرَاثٍ لَمْ يُقْسَمْ حَتَّى أَدْرَكَهُ الْإِسْلَامُ فَهُوَ عَلَى قَسْمِ الْإِسْلَامِ»
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whatever inheritance was distributed in the time of ignorance will be according to the principles of ignorance, and whatever came in Islam will be distributed according to the principles of Islam."
