بَابُ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ عَلَى الْمِيرَاثِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْسَمَChapter on one who accepts Islam before the inheritance is distributed
Hadith 1363

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ أَسْلَمَ عَلَى مِيرَاثٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْسَمَ فَلَهُ نَصِيبُهُ، وَمَنْ أَعْتَقَ عَلَى مِيرَاثٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُقْسَمَ فَلَهُ نَصِيبُهُ»
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Whoever accepts Islam before the distribution (of inheritance) receives the inheritance, even if he is free."
