Hadith 1341

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ وَاسِعِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ قَالَ: تُوُفِّيَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ الدَّحْدَاحَةِ وَلَمْ يَدَعْ وَارِثًا وَلَا عَصَبَةً، فَرُفِعَ شَأْنُه0ُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عَدِيٍّ: «هَلْ تَرَكَ مِنْ أَحَدٍ» ؟ قَالَ: مَا - يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - تَرَكَ أَحَدًا. فَدَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَالَهُ إِلَى ابْنِ أُخْتِهِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُنْذِرِ "
The case of Thabit bin Dahdahah (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He had left behind neither an heir nor an agnate. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) handed over his wealth to his nephew, Abu Lubabah bin Abdul Mundhir.
