Hadith 1327

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ غُلَامٍ أُمُّهُ أَمَةٌ، وَجَدَّتُهُ أُمُّ أُمِّهِ حُرَّةٌ فَمَاتَ قَالَ: «تَرِثُهُ جَدَّتُهُ»
Hisham bin Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from his father that he was asked about a boy whose mother was a slave woman and whose maternal grandmother was free. When the boy died, he said: "His maternal grandmother will inherit from him."
