Hadith 1295

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: «الْأُمُّ عَصَبَةُ مَنْ لَا عَصَبَةَ لَهُ، وَالْأُخْتُ عَصَبَةُ مَنْ لَا عَصَبَةَ لَهُ»
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The mother is the 'asaba (agnate) for the one who has no 'asaba, and the sister is the 'asaba for the one who has no 'asaba."
