Hadith 1294

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، قَالَ: نا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: وَرَّثَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْإِخْوَةَ مِنَ الْأُمِّ الثُّلُثَ، وَوَرَّثَ بَقِيَّةَ الْمَالِ لِلْأُمِّ، وَقَالَ: «هِيَ عَصَبَةُ مَنْ لَا عَصَبَةَ لَهُ»
Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the maternal brothers one third and the rest of the wealth to the mother, and said: "The mother is the 'asaba (residuary heir) of the one who has no 'asaba."
