بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الرَّدِّChapter on what is reported regarding return (of inheritance)
Hadith 1289

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ " لَا يَرُدُّ عَلَى سِتَّةٍ: لَا يَرُدُّ عَلَى زَوْجٍ، وَلَا عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ، وَلَا عَلَى جَدَّةٍ، وَلَا عَلَى إِخْوَةٍ لِأُمٍّ مَعَ أُمٍّ، وَلَا عَلَى بَنَاتِ ابْنٍ مَعَ بَنَاتِ صُلْبٍ، وَلَا عَلَى أَخَوَاتٍ لِأَبٍ مَعَ أَخَوَاتٍ لِأَبٍ أَوْ أُمٍّ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: فَقُلْتُ لعِلَقْمَةَ: أَتَرُدُّ عَلَى الْإِخْوَةِ مِنَ الْأُمِّ مَعَ الْجَدَّةِ؟ قَالَ: إِنْ شِئْتَ، وَكَانَ عَلِيٌّ يَرُدُّ عَلَى جَمِيعِهِمْ إِلَّا الزَّوْجَ وَالْمَرْأَةَ "
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) would not return inheritance to six persons: to the husband, to the woman, to the grandmother, to maternal brothers when the mother is present, to granddaughters when real daughters are present, and to paternal sisters when real or maternal sisters are present. Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him): "Would you return inheritance to maternal brothers along with the grandmother?" He said: "If you wish." And Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) would return to all except the husband and the woman.
