Hadith 1284

سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا خَالِدٌ، وَمَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ شُرَيْحًا «أُتِيَ فِي رَجُلٍ تَرَكَ جَدَّتَيْهِ، أُمَّ أَبِيهِ وَأُمَّ أُمِّهِ، وَأَبُوهُ حَيٌّ، فَأَشْرَكَ بَيْنَ جَدَّتَيْهِ فِي السُّدُسِ»
A case was brought before Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) in which a man had left behind his maternal grandmother and paternal grandmother, while his father was alive. So Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) included both grandmothers in the one-sixth share.
