سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ جَدَّتَيْهِ، أُمَّ أُمِّهِ وَأُمَّ أَبِيهِ وَأَبُوهُ حَيٌّ، فَوَلِيتُ تَرِكَتَهُ، فَأَعْطَيْتُ السُّدُسَ أُمَّ أُمِّهِ، وَتَرَكْتُ أُمَّ أَبِيهِ، فَقِيلَ لِي: كَانَ يَنْبَغِي لَكَ أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بَيْنَهُمَا. فَأَتَيْتُ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: «أَشْرِكْ بَيْنَهُمَا فِي السُّدُسِ» . فَفَعَلْتُ
A man passed away and left behind his maternal grandmother and paternal grandmother, while his father was alive. I took charge of the inheritance, gave one-sixth to the maternal grandmother, and left out the paternal grandmother. It was said: "Both should have been given an equal share." I went to Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "Let both of them share in the one-sixth." So I did accordingly.
