سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، قَالَ: نا الشَّعْبِيُّ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ " يُوَرِّثُ ثَلَاثَ جَدَّاتٍ: ثِنْتَيْنِ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْأَبِ، وَوَاحِدَةً مِنْ قِبَلِ الْأُمِّ، فَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ السُّدُسَ بَيْنَهُنَّ مَا لَمْ يَرِثْ وَاحِدَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ أُخْرَى الَّتِي مِنْ قِبَلِ الْأَبِ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to make three grandmothers heirs: two from the father's side and one from the mother's side, and he would divide the one-sixth share among them until one grandmother would inherit from the other.
