حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا حُدَيْجُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: أُنْزِلَ الْمُفَصَّلُ بِمَكَّةَ، فَمَكَثْنَا حِجَجًا نَقْرَؤُهُ لَا يَنْزِلُ غَيْرُهُ .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Habib (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Mufassal surahs were revealed in Makkah, then we continued to recite them for several years and no other revelation was sent down.
