سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ، «أَتَرَوْنَ الَّذِي أَحْصَى رَمْلَ عَالِجٍ عَدَدًا جَعَلَ فِي مَالٍ نِصْفًا وَثُلُثًا وَرُبُعًا؟ إِنَّمَا هُوَ نِصْفَانِ، وَثَلَاثَةُ أَثْلَاثٍ، وَأَرْبَعَةُ أَرْبَاعٍ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Do you think that the one who counted the grains of sand in Al-'Alij would assign half, a third, and a quarter in wealth? Inheritance is only divided into two halves, three thirds, and four quarters."
