الْآيَةُ (110) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {حَتَّى إِذَا اسْتَيْئَسَ الرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ كُذِبُوا جَاءَهُمْ نَصْرُنَا فَنُجِّيَ مَنْ نَشَاءُ} الْآيَةَVerse (110) His saying, Exalted is He: {Until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved} the verse
Hadith 1152

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: قَرَأْتُ سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ بِحِمْصَ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَا هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ . فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ فَوَجَدْتُ مِنْهُ رِيحَ الْخَمْرِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَتُكَذِّبُ بِالْحَقِّ وَتَشْرَبُ الرِّجْسَ ! وَاللهِ لَهَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَاللهِ لَا أَدَعُكَ حَتَّى أَضْرِبَكَ حَدًّا ! قَالَ: فَضَرَبَهُ الْحَدَّ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I recited Surah Yusuf in Homs, and a man said: "The Qur'an was not revealed in this way." I approached him and sensed the smell of alcohol from him. I said: "You deny the truth and drink alcohol? By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me to recite it in this way. By Allah! I will not leave you without enforcing the prescribed punishment." Thus, the punishment was carried out on him.
