الْآيَةُ (88) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {فَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ قَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ مَسَّنَا وَأَهْلَنَا الضُّرُّ وَجِئْنَا بِبِضَاعَةٍ مُزْجَاةٍ فَأَوْفِ لَنَا الْكَيْلَ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّ اللهَ يَجْزِي الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ}Verse (88) His saying, Exalted is He: {So when they entered upon him, they said, "O Aziz, adversity has touched us and our family, and we have come with goods poor in quality, but give us full measure and be charitable to us. Indeed, Allah rewards the charitable"}
Hadith 1142

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الطَّوِيلُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ: تَصَدَّقْ عَلَيَّ تَصَدَّقَ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ بِالْجَنَّةِ ! قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَتَصَدَّقُ، وَلَكِنْ يَجْزِي الْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ .
It was said to Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him): Give charity, may Allah grant you Paradise! So he replied: Allah does not give charity, but He rewards those who give charity.
