بَابُ تَفْسِيرِ سُورَةِ يُوسُفَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ الْآيَةُ (4) - قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِذْ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ رَأَيْتُهُمْ لِي سَاجِدِينَ}Chapter: Interpretation of Surah Yusuf (peace be upon him), Verse (4) His saying, Exalted is He: {When Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me"}

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: نَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ ظُهَيْرٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ بُسْتَانِي الْيَهُودِيُّ، فَقَالَ: يَا مُحَمَّدُ، أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ النُّجُومِ الَّتِي رَآهَا يُوسُفُ أَنَّهَا سَاجِدَةٌ لَهُ ؛ مَا أَسْمَاؤُهَا ؟ قَالَ: فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ، فَنَزَلَ إِلَيْهِ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَبَعَثَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ إِلَى الْيَهُودِيِّ فَجَاءَهُ، قَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ تُسْلِمُ إِنْ أَخْبَرْتُكَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: حُرْثَانُ، وَالطَّارِقُ، وَالذَّيَّالُ، وَذُو الْكَنَفَاتِ، وَذُو الْفَرَعِ، وَوَثَّابُ، وَعَمُودَانِ، وَقَابِسُ، وَالصَّرُوحُ، وَالْمُصَبِّحُ، وَالْفَلِيقُ، وَالضِّيَاءُ، وَالنُّورُ - رَآهَا فِي أُفُقِ السَّمَاءِ أَنَّهَا سَاجِدَةٌ لَهُ، فَلَمَّا قَصَّ يُوسُفُ رُؤْيَاهُ عَلَى يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ لَهُ: هَذَا أَمْرٌ مُتَشَتِّتٌ يَجْمَعُهُ اللهُ مِنْ بَعْدُ . قَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ: هَذِهِ وَاللهِ أَسْمَاؤُهَا . قَالَ الْحَكَمُ: الضِّيَاءُ: هُوَ الشَّمْسُ وَهُوَ أَبُوهُ، وَالنُّورُ: الْقَمَرُ وَهُوَ أُمُّهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both): A Jew whose name was Bustani came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Tell me the names of those stars which Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw prostrating to him, what are their names? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give him any answer, then Jibril (peace be upon him) descended and informed him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called for the Jew and asked him: Tell me, if I inform you, will you accept Islam? He said: Yes. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «حُرْثَانُ», «الطَّارِقُ», «الذَّيَّالُ», «ذُو الْكَنَفَاتِ», «ذُو الْفَرَعِ», «وَثَّابُ», «عَمُودَانِ», «قَابِسُ», «الصَّرُوحُ», «الْمُصَبِّحُ», «الْفَلِيقُ», «الضِّيَاءُ», and «النُّورُ», Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) saw them prostrating on the horizon of the sky. When Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him) related his dream to his father Sayyiduna Yaqub (peace be upon him), he said: This is a scattered matter which Allah will gather later. The Jew said: By Allah! These are indeed their names. Al-Hakam said: «الضِّيَاءُ» means the sun was their father and «النُّورُ» means the moon was their mother.
