الْآيَةُ (60) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {وَاللهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ}Verse (60) His saying, Exalted is He: {Charity is only for the poor and the needy} to His saying: {And Allah is Knowing and Wise}
Hadith 1024

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: نَا عُمَرُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: { إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ } - قَالَ: الْفُقَرَاءُ زَمْنَى أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said regarding the statement of Allah, the Exalted: “Indeed, charity is only for the poor and the needy” (__QUR_N__): By “the poor” is meant the destitute people among the People of the Book in that era.
