الْآيَةُ (60) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {وَاللهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ}Verse (60) His saying, Exalted is He: {Charity is only for the poor and the needy} to His saying: {And Allah is Knowing and Wise}
Hadith 1023

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا شِهَابُ بْنُ خِرَاشٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْكِنْدِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يُقْرِئُ رَجُلًا . فَقَرَأَ: { إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ } - مُرْسَلَةً، فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: مَا هَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ! فَقَالَ: وَكَيْفَ أَقْرَأَكَهَا يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ؟ قَالَ: أَقْرَأَنِيهَا { إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ } - فَمَدَّهَا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was teaching the Qur'an to a man. That man recited «إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ» in a mursal (detached) manner, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not teach me like this!" The man asked: "O Abu Abdur Rahman! How did he teach you?" He replied: "He taught me in this way: ﴿إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ﴾ and he recited it with elongation (madd)."
