الْآيَةُ (60) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {وَاللهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ}Verse (60) His saying, Exalted is He: {Charity is only for the poor and the needy} to His saying: {And Allah is Knowing and Wise}
Hadith 1021

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَأَةَ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَتْ هَذِهِ الْأَصْنَافُ لِتُعْرَفَ ؛ { إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْعَامِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَالْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ وَالْغَارِمِينَ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ } - فَأَيَّ صِنْفٍ أَعْطَيْتَ مِنْهَا أَجْزَأَكَ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: These categories have been designated so that they may be recognized, ﴿Indeed, [prescribed] charitable offerings are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the stranded traveler﴾, so whichever of these categories you give to, your obligation will be fulfilled.
