الْآيَةُ (47) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {لَوْ خَرَجُوا فِيكُمْ مَا زَادُوكُمْ إِلا خَبَالا وَلأَوْضَعُوا خِلالَكُمْ يَبْغُونَكُمُ الْفِتْنَةَ وَفِيكُمْ سَمَّاعُونَ لَهُمْ}Verse (47) His saying, Exalted is He: {Had they gone forth with you, they would not have increased you except in confusion, and they would have been active among you, seeking [to cause] you fitnah; and among you are avid listeners to them}
Hadith 1020

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، فِي قَوْلِهِ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ: { وَفِيكُمْ سَمَّاعُونَ لَهُمْ } - قَالَ: عُيُونًا لَيْسُوا بِمُنَافِقِينَ، مِنْهُمْ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي رِفَاعَةَ وَابْنُ تَابُوتَ .
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the commentary of «وَفِيكُمْ سَمَّاعُونَ لَهُمْ»: These were people who used to spy for them but were not themselves hypocrites; among them were Abdullah bin Abi Rifa’ah and Ibn Tabut.
