قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ: وَلَمْ أَعْلَمْ مُخَالِفًا فِي أَنَّ الْعَاقِلَةَ الْعَصَبَةُ وَهُمُ الْقَرَابَةُ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْأَبِ.
Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "And I do not know of any opponent regarding the fact that the 'aqilah means the 'asabah (paternal male relatives), and they are the relatives from the father's side."
