فَصْلُ: صَنَعَ الْخَلَّ مِنَ الْخَمْرِ
Section: Making vinegar from wine
Hadith 4701
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُبَشِّرٍ ، نَا نَصْرُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ طَوْقٍ ، نَا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ : " مَا فِي شَرْبَةٍ مِنْ نَبِيذٍ مَا يَنْبَغِي لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَنْ يُغَرِّرَ فِيهَا بِدِينِهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ : فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ أَبَا النَّضْرِ هَاشِمَ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ ، فَأَعْجَبَهُ فَاسْتَعَادَنِيهُ بَعْدَ سَنَةٍ.
Sulaiman al-Taymi says: There is no harm in drinking nabidh; it is not appropriate for a Muslim to be confused about the ruling of his religion in this regard.
Hadith 4702
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، نَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبَّادٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي اشْتَرَيْتُ لأَيْتَامٍ فِي حِجْرِي خَمْرًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَهْرِقِ الْخَمْرَ وَكَسِّرِ الدِّنَانَ " ، فَأَعَادَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I have bought some wine for the orphan children under my care." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pour out the wine and break its container." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this statement three times.
Hadith 4703
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّمَّارُ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْقَزَّازُ ، نَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، نَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا يُقَالُ لَهُ : سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنِ الْخَمْرِ فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهَا ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا أَصْنَعُهَا لِلدَّوَاءِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّهَا دَاءٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِدَوَاءٍ " .
Alqamah bin Wa'il narrates from his father: A man whose name was Suwaid bin Tariq asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about wine, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade that man from (using) that wine. The man said: I prepare it for medicinal purposes, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "It is a disease, it is not a cure."
