Hadith 4397
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِشْكَابَ ، نَا إِسْحَاقُ الأَزْرَقُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْمُصْطَلِقِ ، قَال : " لَمْ يَتْرُكْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَفْرَاءَ وَلا بَيْضَاءَ إِلا أَرْضًا جَعَلَهَا صَدَقَةً ، وَبَغْلَتَهُ الْبَيْضَاءَ " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not leave behind any gold or silver (after his passing), except for a piece of land which he had declared as charity, and a white mule which he left behind.
Hadith 4398
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، نَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، نَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، نَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " مَا تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلا سِلاحَهُ ، وَبَغْلَتَهُ الْبَيْضَاءَ ، وَأَرْضًا جَعَلَهَا صَدَقَةً " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left nothing in inheritance except his weapons, his white mule, and a piece of land which he had declared as charity.
Hadith 4399
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا بِمِصْرَ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّسَائِيُّ ، نَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، نَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : " مَا تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دِينَارًا وَلا دِرْهَمًا ، وَلا عَبْدًا ، وَلا أَمَةً إِلا بَغْلَتَهُ الشَّهْبَاءَ الَّتِي كَانَ يَرْكَبُهَا ، وَسِلاحَهُ ، وَأَرْضًا جَعَلَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى : " جَعَلَهَا صَدَقَةً ".
Sayyiduna Amr bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not leave behind any dinar, dirham, slave, or slave-girl (as inheritance); he only left his white mule, which he used to ride, his weapons, and a piece of land which he had given in the name of Allah (as charity). The narrator named Qutaybah has once reported these words: "He had declared it as charity."
Hadith 4400
نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، نَا زُهَيْرٌ ، نَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، " خَتَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخِي امْرَأَتِهِ ، قَالَ : مَا تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ دِرْهَمًا ، وَلا دِينَارًا ، وَلا عَبْدًا ، وَلا أَمَةً ، وَلا شَيْئًا إِلا بَغْلَتَهُ وَسِلاحَهُ ، وَأَرْضًا تَرَكَهَا صَدَقَةً " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Harith, may Allah be pleased with him, who was the brother-in-law of the Noble Prophet ﷺ and the brother of his esteemed wife, narrates that the Noble Prophet ﷺ, at the time of his passing, did not leave behind any dirham or dinar, slave, bondwoman, or anything else as inheritance, except for his mule, his weapons, and a piece of land which he had left as charity.
Hadith 4401
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، نَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، يَقُولُ : " مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَمَا تَرَكَ إِلا بَغْلَتَهُ الْبَيْضَاءَ ، وَسِلاحَهُ ، وَأَرْضًا جَعَلَهَا صَدَقَةً " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he left behind only his white mule, his weapons, and a piece of land which he had declared as charity.
Hadith 4402
نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا مُطَرِّفٌ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ أَوَّلَ صَدَقَةٍ تُصُدِّقَ بِهَا فِي الإِسْلامِ صَدَقَةُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَأَنَّ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " أَشِرْ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : احْبِسْ أَصْلَهَا وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the first charity given in Islam was by Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Advise me as to what course of action I should adopt regarding this." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Keep this land with you and give its produce in the way of Allah."
Hadith 4403
نَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الأَزْدِيُّ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِابْنِ ابْنَةِ كَعْبٍ ، نَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، نَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ . ح وَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، نَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، نَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مَالا بِخَيْبَرَ لَمْ أُصِبْ مَالا أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : إِنْ شِئْتَ تَصَدَّقْتَ بِهِ وَأَمْسَكْتَ أَصْلَهُ ، قَالَ : فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهِ عُمَرُ عَلَى الْقُرْبَى ، وَالْمَسَاكِينِ ، وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ ، لا جُنَاحَ عَلَى مَنْ وَلِيَهَا أَنْ يَأْكُلَ أَوْ يُطْعِمَ صَدِيقًا غَيْرَ مُتَمَوِّلٍ مِنْهُ مَالا ، أَوْ مُتَأَثِّلٍ مِنْهُ مَالا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have acquired a piece of land in Khaybar, and I have never acquired land more beloved to me than this." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "If you wish, give its (produce) in charity and keep the original land with you." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) declared its (produce) as charity for his close relatives, the poor, and travelers, and there is no sin upon the person who supervises it if he eats from it himself or feeds a friend from it, provided he is not accumulating wealth.
Hadith 4404
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَسَدٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، نَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ أَرْضًا بِخَيْبَرَ ، يُقَالُ لَهَا : ثَمْغٌ ، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : " احْبِسْ أَصْلَهَا وَتَصَدَّقْ بِثَمَرَتِهَا " .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) acquired a piece of land in Khaybar, which was called Thamgh. He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep the land with you and give its produce in charity."
Hadith 4405
نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ " اسْتَأْذَنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ بِمَالِهِ بِثَمْغٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ تَقْسِمُ ثَمَرَهُ ، وَتَحْبِسُ أَصْلَهُ لا يُبَاعُ ، وَلا يُورَثُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding giving his land in “Shamgh” as charity. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Give it as charity in such a way that you distribute its produce, and keep the land with you, which cannot be sold nor inherited.”
Hadith 4406
نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ بِلالٍ ، نَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالا : نَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ . ح وثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الرَّازِيُّ ، نَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، أنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ " اسْتَشَارَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ بِمَالِهِ الَّذِي بِثَمْغٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : تَصَدَّقْ بِثَمَرِهِ ، وَاحْبِسْ أَصْلَهُ لا يُبَاعُ ، وَلا يُورَثُ " ، وَقَالَ أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ : " تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ تَقْسِمُ ثَمَرَهُ ، وَتَحْبِسُ أَصْلَهُ ، لا يُبَاعُ ، وَلا يُورَثُ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) consulted the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about giving his land in Thamgh as charity, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Give its produce as charity and keep the land with you, such that it cannot be sold nor inherited." In another narration, these words are mentioned: "Give it as charity in such a way that its produce is distributed, and the original land remains with you, so that it cannot be sold nor inherited."
Hadith 4407
نَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، نَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْكِنَانِيُّ ، نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ " اسْتَأْمَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَدَقَتِهِ بِثَمْغٍ ، فَقَالَ : احْبِسْ أَصْلَهَا ، وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَتَهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to give as charity the land he possessed in Shamgh. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep the land with you and give its produce in the way of Allah."
Hadith 4408
وثنا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَهْرَيَارَ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السُّكَّرِيُّ . ح وثنا أَبُو سَهْلٍ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ، سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُصَفَّى ، قَالا : نَا بَقِيَّةُ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَنْ أَرْضِي مِنْ ثَمْغٍ ، فَقَالَ : احْبِسْ أَصْلَهَا وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates the statement of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about his land in Shamgh. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Keep the land with you and give its produce in charity."
Hadith 4409
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحٍ الْجُنْدِيسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، نَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، نَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ بِمَالِي ، قَالَ : احْبِسْ أَصْلَهَا ، وَتَصَدَّقْ بِثَمَرَتِهَا " .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that he said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have vowed to give my wealth in charity." So the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Keep the land with you and give its produce in charity."
