بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي أَحْكَامِ الْحِلِّ وَالْإِحْرَامِ لِلنِّسَاءِ
Chapter on rulings of being lawful and in Ihram for women
Hadith 2665
ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَطِيرِيُّ ، نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، نا حسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، نا سعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَزْرَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، مَوْقُوفًا نَحْوَ لَفْظِ أَبِي يُوسُفَ.
The same narration is also transmitted with another chain of narration as a mawquf narration from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
Hadith 2666
ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، إِمْلاءً ، نا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، نا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَتْ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ عُثْمَانَ بِنْتُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ حَلْقٌ ، إِنَّمَا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ التَّقْصِيرُ " .
Safiyyah bint Shaybah narrates: Umm Uthman bint Abu Sufyan reported this, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported this: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not obligatory for women to shave their heads; women will only shorten their hair."
Hadith 2667
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ ، نا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَطَاءٍ يَعْنِي يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ حَلْقٌ ، إِنَّمَا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ التَّقْصِيرُ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The command to shave the head is not for women; they will only shorten their hair."
Hadith 2668
ثنا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ ، نا أَبُو يُونُسَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، نا هُرَيْمٌ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ فِي الْمُحْرِمَةِ : " تَأْخُذُ مِنْ شَعْرِهَا مثل السَّبَّابَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says regarding a woman in the state of ihram: She should cut hair equal to the length of a fingertip.
Hadith 2669
ثنا ابْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نا صَالِحُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، نا أَبِي ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " مِنَ السُّنَّةِ تُدَلِّكُ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ رَأْسِهَا بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ حِنَّاءٍ عَشِيَّةَ الإِحْرَامِ ، وَتُغَلِّفُ رَأْسَهَا بِغَسْلِهِ لَيْسَ فِيهَا طِيبٌ ، وَلا تُحْرِمْ عَطَلا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Sunnah is that a woman entering into Ihram should apply some henna to her head at night, then wash it off and cover her head. There should be no fragrance in it, and she should not tie the Ihram with perfume.
Hadith 2670
ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، نا خَالِدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْقَرَنِيُّ ، نا أَبُو شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي الْخُفَّيْنِ عِنْدَ الإِحْرَامِ " . قَالَ سَالِمٌ : وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَكْرَهُهُ حَتَّى حَدَّثَتْهُ صَفِيَّةُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِهَذَا.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted women the concession that they may wear socks while in the state of ihram. Salim narrates: Previously, Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) considered this disliked, until a woman named Safiyyah narrated this report from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), (so he issued a fatwa accordingly).
Hadith 2671
ثنا ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ، نا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُفْتِي النِّسَاءَ أَنْ يَقْطَعْنَ الْخُفَّيْنِ ، حَتَّى قَالَتْ لَهُ صَفِيَّةُ : إِنَّ عَائِشَةَ كَانَتْ تَأْمُرُهُنَّ أَنْ لا يَقْطَعْنَ " ، مَوْقُوفٌ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to give this fatwa: women should cut their socks, until Safiyyah informed him: Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) had instructed the women not to cut them. This narration is mawquf.
Hadith 2672
ثنا ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، نا عُبَيْدَةُ ، نا الْعَلاءُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا أَصَابَ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " يَنْحَرَانِ جَزُورًا بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِمَا الْحَجُّ مِنْ قَابِلٍ " .
Ata reports: Once a man had intercourse with his wife before performing the Tawaf of the House on the day of sacrifice, so Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Both of them will sacrifice a camel, however, it will not be obligatory upon them to perform Hajj again next year.
