Hadith 2514
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، نا عَمِّي ، نا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : فَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّسٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَوْقِفِ مِنْ جَمْعٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، جِئْتُكَ مِنْ جَبَلَيْ طَيِّءٍ أَكْلَلْتُ مَطِيَّتِي وَأَتْعَبْتُ نَفْسِي ، وَاللَّهِ إِنْ تَرَكْتُ مِنْ حَبْلٍ إِلا وَقَفْتُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَهَلْ لِي مِنْ حَجٍّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى مَعَنَا الْغَدَاةَ بِجَمْعٍ ، وَقَدْ أَتَى عَرَفَاتٍ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ لَيْلا أَوْ نَهَارًا ، فَقَدْ قَضَى تَفَثَهُ ، وَتَمَّ حَجُّهُ " .
Sayyiduna ‘Urwah bin Mudarris (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was encamped at Muzdalifah. I said, “O Messenger of Allah! I have come to you from the two mountains of Tai’, I have exhausted my mount and myself. By Allah! I did not leave any mountain but that I stayed there. Will my Hajj be valid, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever offered the morning prayer with us at Muzdalifah and reached ‘Arafat by night or day before that, he has fulfilled his vow and his Hajj is complete.”
Hadith 2515
نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ صَخْرٍ الدَّرَامِيُّ ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْخُرَيْبِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّسٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِجَمْعٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ لِي مِنْ حَجٍّ ؟ فَقَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى مَعَنَا هَذِهِ الصَّلاةَ ثُمَّ وَقَفَ مَعَنَا حَتَّى نُفِيضَ وَقَدْ أَفَاضَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ لَيْلا أَوْ نَهَارًا ، فَقَدْ تَمَّ حَجُّهُ ، وَقَضَى تَفَثَهُ " . قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ : وَمَنْ لَمْ يَقِفْ بِجَمْعٍ جَعَلَهَا عَمْرَةً.
Sayyiduna ‘Urwah bin Mudarris (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while you were at Muzdalifah. I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Has my Hajj been accomplished?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever performs this prayer with us and stays with us until we depart, or whoever departs from ‘Arafat at night or during the day before this, his Hajj is complete and he has fulfilled his vow.” Imam Shafi‘i (may Allah have mercy on him) states: Whoever is unable to stay at Muzdalifah should consider it as ‘Umrah.
Hadith 2516
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُبَشِّرٍ ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، نا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَعْمَرَ الدِّيلِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَةَ ، فَأَتَاهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا الْحَجُّ ؟ قَالَ : " الْحَجُّ عَرَفَةُ الْحَجُّ عَرَفَةُ ، مَنْ أَدْرَكَ عَرَفَةَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ فِي يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ فَقَدْ تَمَّ حَجُّهُ ، أَيَّامُ مِنًى ثَلاثَةٌ مَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Ya'mar Daili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was encamped at Arafah. Some people from Jeddah came to him and said, "O Messenger of Allah! What is Hajj?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hajj is (standing at) Arafah. Whoever reaches Arafah before dawn on the Day of Sacrifice, his Hajj is complete. The days at Mina are three, but whoever departs after two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever stays later (i.e., on the third day), there is also no sin upon him."
Hadith 2517
نا الْحُسَيْنُ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ ابْنَا إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالا : أنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، نا أبُو عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَدَّادُ ، نا شعْبَةُ ، نا بكَيْرُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْمَرَ الدِّيلِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ.
This narration is also transmitted with another chain of transmission.
Hadith 2518
نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، نا أَبُو عَوْنٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْنٍ ، نا دَاوُدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ ، نا رَحْمَةُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ أَبُو هَاشِمٍ الْفَرَّاءُ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، وَنَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ وَقَفَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ بِلَيْلٍ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْحَجَّ ، وَمَنْ فَاتَهُ عَرَفَاتٌ بِلَيْلٍ فَقَدْ فَاتَهُ الْحَجُّ ، فَلْيَحِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَعَلَيْهِ الْحَجُّ مِنْ قَابِلٍ " . رَحْمَةُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَلَمْ يَأْتِ بِهِ غَيْرُهُ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever stands at Arafat during the night has attained Hajj, and whoever was not able to stand at Arafat during the night, his Hajj will be considered missed, so he should enter into the state of Ihram for Umrah, and now Hajj will be obligatory upon him the following year." The narrator named Rahmat bin Mus'ab is weak, and no one else has narrated this narration except him.
Hadith 2519
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْيَقْطِينِيُّ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْغَزِّيُّ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ عِيسَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ عَرَفَاتٍ فَوَقَفَ بِهَا ، وَالْمُزْدَلِفَةَ ، فَقَدْ تَمَّ حَجُّهُ ، وَمَنْ فَاتَهُ عَرَفَاتٌ فَقَدْ فَاتَهُ الْحَجُّ ، فَلْيَحِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ ، وَعَلَيْهِ الْحَجُّ مِنْ قَابِلٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever reaches Arafat and stands there, and also reaches Muzdalifah, his Hajj is complete. And whoever does not reach Arafat, his Hajj will not be complete; he should assume Ihram for Umrah, and now Hajj will be obligatory upon him the following year.”
