بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي صِيَامِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ
Chapter on fasting during the days of Tashreeq
Hadith 2281
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالا : نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، ثنا النَّضْرُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ . وَعَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالا : " لَمْ يُرَخَّصْ فِي صَوْمِ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ إِلا لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْهَدْيَ " . زَادَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ : أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ .
Urwah narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and Salim narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): Both of them said: The concession regarding fasting on these days is only for the person who does not have a sacrificial animal. The narrator named Nishapuri additionally reported this: "The days of Tashreeq."
Hadith 2282
حَدَّثَنَا النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، ثنا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، نَحْوَهُ . هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ.
This narration is also transmitted with another chain of transmission, and its chain is authentic.
Hadith 2283
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَلامٍ ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْمُتَمَتِّعِ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْهَدْيَ أَنْ يَصُومَ أَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ " . يَحْيَى بْنُ سَلامٍ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the one performing Hajj Tamattu’ that if he does not have an animal for sacrifice, then he may fast during the days of Tashreeq. The narrator of this narration, Yahya bin Salam, is not reliable.
Hadith 2284
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا حَاجِبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، ثنا مُؤَمَّلٌ ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " لَمْ يُرَخَّصْ فِي صَوْمِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ إِلا لِمُتَمَتِّعٍ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْهَدْيَ " . إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The concession to fast during the days of Tashreeq is only for the one performing Hajj Tamattu‘ who does not have a sacrificial animal with him. The chain of this hadith is authentic.
Hadith 2285
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا هِلالُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، ثنا أَبُو سُلَيْمٍ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْكُوفِيُّ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالا : " لَمْ يُرَخِّصْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لأَحَدٍ فِي صِيَامِ التَّشْرِيقِ إِلا لِمُتَمَتِّعٍ أَوْ مُحْصَرٍ " . أَخْطَأَ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ ، وَهُوَ أَبُو مَرْيَمَ الْكُوفِيُّ ضَعِيفٌ.
Urwah bin Zubair narrated this: Lady Aisha and Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated this: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not grant permission to anyone to fast during the days of Tashreeq, except for the person performing Hajj Tamattu’ (who does not have a sacrificial animal) and the person who is prevented (from completing Hajj). The narrator named Abdul Ghafar made a mistake in the chain of this narration. This person is Abu Maryam Al-Kufi and he is weak.
Hadith 2286
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الأَزْرَقِ الْمُعَدَّلُ بِمِصْرَ ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَنْجَرٍ ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَصُمْ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ صَامَ تِلْكَ الثَّلاثَةَ الأَيَّامَ فَلْيَصُمْ أَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ ، أَيَّامَ مِنًى " . يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ضَعِيفٌ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him should fast for three days before the sacrifice, and whoever is unable to fast during these three days should fast during the days of Tashreeq (i.e., the days in Mina)." The narrator of this narration, Yahya bin Abu Anisah, is weak.
Hadith 2287
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، إِمْلاءً ، قَالَ : أَمْلَى عَلَيْنَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ . ح ، وَحَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ الْجَلابُ ، ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الأَخْضَرِ ، ثنا ابْنُ شِهَابِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ حُذَافَةَ يَطُوفُ فِي مِنًى ، " أَنْ لا تَصُومُوا هَذِهِ الأَيَّامَ فَإِنَّهَا أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ ، وَذِكْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Abdullah bin Hudhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) to make rounds in Mina (to announce): "Do not fast on these days! For these are the days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah, the Exalted."
Hadith 2288
حَدَّثَنَا حَبْشُونُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْخَلالُ ، ثنا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، ثنا صَالِحٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ.
This same narration is also transmitted with another chain of narration from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 2289
حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَزَّازُ ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْكُمَيْتِ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي نَافِعٍ ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبِي مُعَاذٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ السَّهْمِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَهْطٍ أَنْ يَطُوفُوا فِي مِنًى فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَيُنَادُوا : " إِنَّ هَذِهِ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ وَذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ، فَلا تَصُومُوا فِيهِنَّ إِلا صَوْمًا فِي هَدْيٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hudhafah Sahmi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him along with a few others to make this announcement while circling Mina on the Day of Sacrifice during the Farewell Pilgrimage: "These are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah. Do not fast on these days, except for the fast that is related to sacrifice."
Hadith 2290
ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَطِيرِيُّ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ ، ثنا أبِي ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الزُّرَقِيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ حُذَافَةَ فَنَادَى فِي أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ : " أَلا إِنَّ هَذِهِ أَيَّامُ عِيدٍ وَأَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ وَذِكْرٍ ، فَلا يَصُمْهُنَّ إِلا مُحْصَرٌ ، أَوْ مُتَمَتِّعٌ لَمْ يَجِدْ هَدْيًا ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَصُمْهُنَّ فِي أَيَّامِ الْحَجِّ الْمُتَتَابِعَةِ فَلْيَصُمْهُنَّ " . سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ضَعِيفٌ . رَوَاهُ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِيهِ : إِلا مُحْصَرٌ ، أَوْ مُتَمَتِّعٌ.
Masood bin Hakam narrates from a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed Abdullah bin Huzafah (may Allah be pleased with him) to announce during the days of Tashreeq: "Beware! These are the days of Eid and days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah. So, fasting in these days is only for the one who is detained or for the one performing Hajj Tamattu’ who does not have a sacrificial animal, and for the person who did not fast continuously during the days of Hajj; he may fast in these days." The narrator of this narration, Sulaiman bin Abu Dawood, is weak. This narration has been transmitted by Zubaidi from Zuhri, who narrated it from Masood bin Hakam from a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), but it does not contain these words: "Except for the detained and the one performing Hajj Tamattu’."
