بَابُ الْقَوْلِ عِنْدَ الْإِفْطَارِ
Chapter on what to say at iftar (breaking the fast)
Hadith 2279
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ الْمُقَفَّعِ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقْبِضُ عَلَى لِحْيَتِهِ وَيَقْطَعُ مَا زَادَ عَلَى الْكَفِّ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ : " ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ " . تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ.
Marwan narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) holding his beard in his fist, and whatever was more than a fist, he was cutting it. He has narrated this: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication at the time of breaking the fast: "The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills." In narrating this tradition, the narrator named Husayn bin Waqid (may Allah have mercy on him) is unique, and its chain of narration is Hasan (good).
Hadith 2280
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الزَّيَّاتُ ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ هَارُونَ بْنِ عَنْتَرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْنَا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate at the time of breaking the fast: "O Allah! We have fasted for You and with the sustenance provided by You we have broken our fast, so accept it from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing."
