بَابُ نَهْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقُومَ الْإِمَامُ فَوْقَ شَيْءٍ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ
Chapter on the Prophet's prohibition for the imam to stand on something while people are behind him
Hadith 1881
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَسَدٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ، ثنا سَلامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، ثنا عُمَرُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ وَاسِعٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اجْعَلُوا أَئِمَّتَكُمْ خِيَارَكُمْ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ وَفْدُكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " . هَذَا عِنْدِي هُوَ عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَاضِي الْمَدَائِنِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that the imam stand upon something while the people are behind him, the narrator says: that is, while they are on the ground below him.
Hadith 1882
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى الْوَاسِطِيُّ زَحْمَوَيْهِ ، ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الطُّفَيْلِ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقُومَ الإِمَامُ فَوْقَ شَيْءٍ وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ " ، يَعْنِي أَسْفَلَ مِنْهُ . لَمْ يَرْوِهِ غَيْرُ زِيَادٍ الْبَكَّاءِ ، وَلَمْ يَرْوِهِ غَيْرُ هَمَّامٍ فِيمَا نَعْلَمُ.
Sayyiduna Abu Marthad Ghanawi (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honor of participating in the Battle of Badr, narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you want your prayer to be accepted, then let your best people lead your prayer, because they are representatives between you and your Lord." The chain of this narration is not established; its narrator Abdullah bin Musa is weak.
