Hadith 1656
ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الأَشْعَثِ ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الزَّوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُرَّةَ الزَّوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَمَدَّكُمْ بِصَلاةٍ هِيَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ حُمُرِ النَّعَمِ ، الْوِتْرُ ، جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى أَنْ يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ " .
Sayyiduna Kharijah bin Hudhafah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: “Allah Almighty has granted you an additional prayer, which is better for you than red camels. It is the Witr prayer. Allah Almighty has fixed its time from after the ‘Isha prayer until the break of dawn.”
Hadith 1657
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ الْمُقْرِئُ ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ ، نا النَّضْرُ أَبُو عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ تُرَى الْبُشْرَى وَالسُّرُورُ فِي وَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَمَدَّكُمْ بِصَلاةٍ هِيَ الْوِتْرُ " . النَّضْرُ أَبُو عُمَرَ الْخَزَّازُ ضَعِيفٌ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, and happiness and delight were apparent on his blessed face. Then he (peace be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has granted you an additional prayer, and it is the Witr prayer." The narrator of this narration, Abu ‘Umar Nadr Khazzaz, is weak.
Hadith 1658
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، ثنا حَمْزَةُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ ، ثنا عَبْدَانُ ، ثنا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : مَكَثْنَا زَمَانًا لا نَزِيدُ عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ ، فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاجْتَمَعْنَا ، فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ زَادَكُمْ صَلاةً " ، فَأَمَرَنَا بِالْوِتْرِ . مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَرْزَمِيُّ ضَعِيفٌ.
Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, from his grandfather: A long period passed in which we did not perform any prayer except the five obligatory prayers. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) commanded us, so we gathered together. After praising and glorifying Allah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah the Exalted has granted you another prayer." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged us to perform Witr. The narrator of this narration (i.e., Ubaidullah), Muhammad bin Ubaidullah, is extremely weak.
