بَابُ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ
Chapter on Jumu'ah being obligatory for one who hears the call
Hadith 1588
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْجُمُعَةُ عَلَى مَنْ بِمَدَى الصَّوْتِ " . قَالَ دَاوُدُ : يَعْنِي حَيْثُ يَسْمَعُ الصَّوْتَ.
Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, who narrates from his grandfather, that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Jumu'ah is obligatory upon the person who hears the (mu'adhdhin's) call." Dawud states: The meaning of the words of the hadith is: that person hears the (mu'adhdhin's) call.
Hadith 1589
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الأَشْعَثِ ، نا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، نا الْوَلِيدُ ، عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا الْجُمُعَةُ عَلَى مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ " .
Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Jumu'ah is obligatory upon the one who hears the call to prayer (adhan)."
Hadith 1590
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُبَيْهٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْجُمُعَةُ عَلَى مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ " . قَالَ لَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ : مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ هُوَ الطَّائِفِيُّ ثِقَةٌ ، وَهَذِهِ سُنَّةٌ تَفَرَّدَ بِهَا أَهْلُ الطَّائِفِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Jumu'ah becomes obligatory upon the person who hears the call to Jumu'ah."
Hadith 1591
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " التَّأْذِينُ ".
This narration is also transmitted with another chain, however, here the word 'ta'deen' is used.
