Hadith 1576
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ الْمُهْتَدِي بِاللَّهِ ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ نَافِعِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ بِمِصْرَ ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَعَلَيْهِ الْجُمُعَةُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، إِلا مَرِيضٌ ، أَوْ مُسَافِرٌ ، أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ أَوْ صَبِيُّ أَوْ مَمْلُوكٌ ، فَمَنِ اسْتَغْنَى بِلَهْوٍ أَوْ تِجَارَةٍ اسْتَغْنَى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَاللَّهُ غَنِيُّ حُمَيْدٌ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, it is obligatory upon him to perform the Friday prayer on the day of Jumu’ah, except for a sick person, a traveler, a woman, a (minor) child, and a slave—their ruling is different (Jumu’ah is not obligatory upon them). So whoever neglects it due to some amusement or trade, Allah will show indifference to that person, and Allah is Self-Sufficient and Praiseworthy.”
Hadith 1577
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَنْبَسِ ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، ثنا هُرَيْمٌ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْجُمُعَةُ وَاجِبَةٌ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ إِلا عَلَى أَرْبَعٍ : عَبْدٍ مَمْلُوكٍ ، أَوْ صَبِيٍّ ، أَوْ مَرِيضٍ ، أَوِ امْرَأَةٍ " .
Tariq bin Shihab narrates the statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Jumu'ah is obligatory upon all people, except for four: a slave, a (minor) child, a sick person, and a woman."
Hadith 1578
ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ، فَهَذَا يَوْمُهُمُ الَّذِي افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهُ ، فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ الْيَهُودُ غَدًا ، وَالنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(In this world) we are the last to come, but on the Day of Resurrection we will be the first. The reason for this is: those people were given the Book before us, and we were given the Book after them. So this is the day which Allah made obligatory upon them, and then Allah guided us regarding it. So, in this matter, people follow us. The day of the Jews is tomorrow (Saturday), and the day of the Christians is the day after (Sunday).”
