بَابُ الرَّجُلِ يَذْكُرُ صَلَاةً وَهُوَ فِي أُخْرَى
Chapter on a man remembering a prayer while in another prayer
Hadith 1558
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، نا بَقِيَّةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا نَسِيَ أَحَدُكُمُ الصَّلاةَ فَذَكَرَهَا وَهُوَ فِي صَلاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ فَلْيَبْدَأْ وَهُوَ فِيهَا ، فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْهَا صَلَّى الَّتِي نَسِيَ " . عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ مَجْهُولٌ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person forgets a prayer and then remembers it while he is performing another prayer, he should first complete his current prayer, and when he finishes it, then he should perform the prayer which he had forgotten."
Hadith 1559
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا نَسِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ صَلاتَهُ فَلَمْ يَذْكُرْهَا إِلا وَهُوَ مَعَ الإِمَامِ فَلْيُصَلِّ مَعَ الإِمَامِ ، فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلاتِهِ فَلْيُصَلِّ الصَّلاةَ الَّتِي نَسِيَ ، ثُمَّ لِيُعِدْ صَلاتَهُ الَّتِي صَلَّى مَعَ الإِمَامِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "When a person forgets a prayer and then remembers it while he is following the imam, he should perform the prayer with the imam. When he finishes that prayer, then he should perform the prayer which he had forgotten. Then he should repeat the prayer which he performed with the imam."
Hadith 1560
قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى : وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ بِهِ ، وَرَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . وَوَهِمَ فِي رَفْعِهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ قَدْ رَجَعَ عَنْ رَفْعِهِ فَقَدْ وُفِّقَ لِلصَّوَابِ.
Some narrators have transmitted it as a marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet) hadith, but those narrators were mistaken in this regard.
