Hadith 1532
ثنا الْقَاضِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، وعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالا : نا هُشَيْمٌ ، ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، نا جَابِرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّتَهُ ، فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ صَلاةَ الصُّبْحِ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاتَهُ وَانْصَرَفَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلَيْنِ فِي آخِرِ الْقَوْمِ لَمْ يُصَلِّيَا مَعَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " عَلَيَّ بِهِمَا " ، فَأُتِيَ بِهِمَا تَرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَنَا ؟ " ، قَالا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كُنَّا قَدْ صَلَّيْنَا فِي رِحَالِنَا ، قَالَ : " لا تَفْعَلا ، إِذَا صَلَّيْتُمَا فِي رِحَالِكُمَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُمَا مَسْجِدَ جَمَاعَةٍ فَصَلَّيَا مَعَهُمْ فَإِنَّهَا لَكُمْ نَافِلَةٌ " .
Jabir bin Yazid narrates from his father: I participated in the Hajj with the Prophet (peace be upon him). I performed the morning prayer behind him in the Mosque of Khaif. When he completed his prayer and finished, there were two men behind the people who had not prayed behind him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered: "Bring them to me." They were brought, and both were trembling. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Why did you both not pray with us?" They replied: O Messenger of Allah! We had already performed the prayer at our residence. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Do not do so. When you have performed the prayer at your residence, then come to the mosque where the congregation is being held and pray with the people as well. This will become a voluntary prayer for you."
Hadith 1533
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، وَشُعْبَةُ ، وَشَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ . قَالَ شَرِيكٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي ، فَقَالَ : " غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ ".
This same narration is transmitted with some other chains as well, however, in it these additional words are present: "One of the two persons said: O Messenger of Allah! Please supplicate for our forgiveness." So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Allah has forgiven you."
Hadith 1534
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفَجْرَ بِمِنًى فَانْحَرَفَ ، فَرَأَى رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ وَرَاءِ النَّاسِ ، فَدَعَا بِهِمَا فَجِيءَ بِهِمَا تَرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مَنَعَكُمَا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَ النَّاسِ ؟ " ، فَقَالا : قَدْ كُنَّا صَلَّيْنَا فِي الرِّحَالِ ، فَقَالَ : " فَلا تَفْعَلا ، إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي رَحْلِهِ ثُمَّ أَدْرَكَ الصَّلاةَ مَعَ الإِمَامِ فَلْيُصَلِّهَا مَعَهُ فَإِنَّهَا لَهُ نَافِلَةٌ " .
Jabir bin Yazid narrates from his father: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) led the Fajr prayer in Mina. When he finished the prayer, he saw two men behind the people. He had both of them called, and they were brought, and they were trembling. He asked: "Why did you not pray with the people?" Both of them replied: "We had already performed the prayer at our place of residence." He said: "Do not do so. When a person has already performed the prayer at his place of residence and then finds the congregational prayer with the Imam, he should also perform that prayer with the Imam; it will be counted as a voluntary prayer for him."
Hadith 1535
ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَحَاجِبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالا : ثنا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ . وَقَالَ : " فَصَلُّوا مَعَهُ وَاجْعَلُوهَا سُبْحَةً " . خَالَفَهُمَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ النَّبِيلُ ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ.
This narration is also transmitted with some other chains, however, in it are these words: "So you all perform prayer with him and consider it as a voluntary prayer." Some other narrators have transmitted it in the opposite manner.
Hadith 1536
ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَأَى رَجُلَيْنِ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ الْقَوْمِ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا بِهِمَا ، فَجَاءَا تَرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُمَا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا لَكُمَا لَمْ تُصَلِّيَا مَعَنَا ؟ " ، فَقَالا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، صَلَّيْنَا فِي الرِّحَالِ ، قَالَ : " فَلا تَفْعَلا ، إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فِي رَحْلِهِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ إِلَى الإِمَامِ فَلْيُصَلِّ مَعَهُ وَلْيَجْعَلِ الَّتِي صَلَّى فِي بَيْتِهِ نَافِلَةً " . خَالَفَهُ أَصْحَابُ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، وَمَعَهُ أَصْحَابُ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ مِنْهُمْ : شُعْبَةُ ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، وَشَرِيكٌ ، وَغَيْلانُ بْنُ جَامِعٍ ، وَأَبُو خَالِدٍ الدَّالانِيُّ ، وَمُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، وَأَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، وَهُشَيْمٌ وَغَيْرُهُمْ . رَوَوْهُ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، مثل قَوْلِ وَكِيعٍ ، وَابْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ . وَرَوَاهُ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَأَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " فَتَكُونُ لَكُمَا نَافِلَةً وَالَّتِي فِي رِحَالِكُمَا فَرِيضَةٌ " .
Jabir bin Yazid narrates from his father: I performed prayer behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). When he finished the prayer, he saw two men behind the people. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace be upon him) called them, so they came trembling. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Why did you both not pray with us?" They replied: O Messenger of Allah! We had already performed the prayer at our residence. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Do not do so. When a person has performed prayer at his residence and then comes to the Imam, he should also perform prayer with the Imam, and the prayer he performed at his residence should be considered as voluntary (nafl)."
Hadith 1537
حَدَّثَنَا النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، وَغَيْرُهُ ، قَالُوا : ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، ثنا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ بِذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates a similar report from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), however, in it these words are mentioned: "This will become a voluntary prayer for both of you, and what you performed at your residence will be the obligatory prayer." This same narration is also transmitted from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through some other chains of transmission.
Hadith 1538
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْخَفَّافُ ، ثنا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، ومُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مثل قَوْلِ هُشَيْمٍ .
This same narration, along with some other chains of transmission, is reported from Jabir bin Yazid from his father.
Hadith 1539
ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الأُبُلِّيُّ ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هُنَيْدَةَ الْمَدَدِيُّ ، ثنا الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَلِيحٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ ذِي حِمَايَةَ ، عَنْ غَيْلانَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ . خَالَفَهُ بَقِيَّةُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ ذِي حِمَايَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ .
This same narration, along with some other chains of transmission, is reported from Jabir bin Yazid on the authority of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Hadith 1540
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، نا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْوَصَّابِيُّ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النُّعْمَانِيُّ ، قَالا : نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَنَانٍ ، قَالا : نا بَقِيَّةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ ذِي حِمَايَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ.
This same narration is transmitted from Jabir bin Yazid similar to the hadith of Shu’bah.
