بَيَانُ تَكْبِيرَاتِ صَلَاةِ الْجِنَازَةِ
Clarification of the takbirs in the funeral prayer
Hadith 1512
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ حَبِيبِ الْقَاضِي أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ ، ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ سَلامٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ شِمْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ صَعْصَعَةَ بْنِ صُوحَانَ ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا كَبَّرَ بِالْعِرَاقِ الْخَمْسَ وَالأَرْبَعَ وَالسَّبْعَ ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ : " قَدْ كَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ ، وَتِسْعًا ، وَسَبْعًا ، وَسِتًّا ، وَخَمْسًا ، وَأَرْبَعًا " .
Sa’sa’ah bin Suhan narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said takbeer five times in (the funeral prayer) in Iraq, also four times, and also seven times. He stated this: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said takbeer eleven times, nine times, seven times, six times, five times, and four times in (the funeral prayer).
