Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were traveling with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when we reached a place that was narrow, with the sky above us and a depression below us. The time for prayer arrived, and the Mu’adhdhin was ordered, so he gave the adhan and the iqamah (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words), or he gave the iqamah without the adhan. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) moved forward and led the prayer while remaining on his mount, and we also prayed following him while remaining on our mounts. In prostration, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lowered his blessed head a little more than in bowing.
