تَقْدِيمُ الْأَكْبَرِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
Giving precedence to the elder in prayer
Hadith 1311
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمِسْوَرِ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ ، وَأَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، أَنَّهُمْ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَصَاحِبٌ لَهُ أَيُّوبُ أَوْ خَالِدٌ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمَا : " إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا ، وَصَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي أُصَلِّي " . هَذَا صَحِيحٌ.
Sayyiduna Malik bin Huwairith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Those people came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and with them was one of their companions. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to both of them: "When the time for prayer comes, both of you give the adhan, both of you say the iqamah, and let the one who is older among you lead the prayer, and perform the prayer in the manner you have seen me perform it."
Hadith 1312
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، ثنا الْعَلاءُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ ، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، ثنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنْ سَرَّكُمْ أَنْ تُزَكُّوا صَلاتَكُمْ فَقَدِمُوا خِيَارَكُمْ " . أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ هُوَ خَالِدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ضَعِيفٌ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you want your prayer to be pure, then put your righteous people forward (i.e., have them lead the prayer)." The narrator named Abu al-Walid is Khalid bin Isma'il, and he is weak.
